I had bought these cute little tins several months ago and FINALLY got around to turning them into cute, little gifts. My friend Jacklyn is having a vendor Open House Next weekend in Garland, TX (I'll have the info posted here in a few days for those of you in the Garland, TX area who might like to attend!). I stamped regular address labels using a variety of my favorite stamp sets and wheels (this one features snowmen which I LOVE), wrapped the label around a chocolate candy and then embellished with a belly band and some Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon. I stamped a little white notecard and tucked under the band to complete this gift. I'd love to feature your gift projects on my blog, too so please send me pictures of your projects!
A gift Card Holder to put in mon.....ey. Make a few of these to have on hand and then all you'll need is to put a gift card inside!
I created this card by punching out a stencil using our Ornament Punch and Window Sheet. I used some Soft Suede Classic Ink inside the stencil on top of our Shimmer White Card Stock. Then I used the Christmas stamp from the Holiday Best Hostess set, stamped it in Always Artichoke Ink; I didn't want a green bird so I removed the Artichoke ink using a blender pen, re-colored the bird with my Real Red Marker and then stamped inside the ornament. It's hard to see but the Real Red Card Stock on the top layer has some texture in it by using one of our Stampin' Up Backgrounds 1and a small piece of Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon around it.
I wanted to share this card and tip from my October stamp clubs. (My friend Tracy found the original idea somewhere and my apologies I'm not sure who made the original card!) Many of my newest club members have not tried the technique of embossing so I wanted to show them how this technique can step up a card in several ways. On this card, we embossed the leaves, cut them out and then popped up as an embellishment. Sometimes a card or page just needs a little something extra and adhering an embossed way can be a beautiful and inexpensive way to do this! You can also emboss directly on your paper to create a raised image. (i.e. Embossing snowflakes in white on a navy background creates a stunning effect!) Some ornaments as pretty as can be!
We have a tradition in our family that I started when my grown children were very young and it continues to this day; on Christmas Eve, they each get a new ornament to put on the tree. (of course, now that our family has expanded to include one daughter in law and three grandchildren, my ornament purchasing has, too!) AND, I started my nephews' ornament collection the year each of them were born, so let's just say I've bought QUITE a few over the years! This year I'm starting a new tradition with my two oldest grandchildren of helping them to make some ornaments to THEIR tree. You might want to consider this idea for your family.
Holiday Ornaments
1 Choose one paper for each ornament you
want to make. We recommend Designer
Series paper or stamped card stock.
2 You’ll need eight circles for each ornament,
so cut your sheet of paper in fourths, and
run one 6" x 6" sheet through the Big Shot
with the Circle 3D Ornament Bigz die, then
another. You’ll have two 6" x 6" sheets left
over for someone else to use.
3 Fold each circle at the score lines, and then
adhere eight circles together to form each
ornament. Punch a hole in one flap, thread
ribbon through, and tie.
4 (Optional) To create a tag for each
ornament, stamp a sentiment, and punch
out or cut out.

These are the cards the ladies made at my second Christmas Card Class on Friday night. My friend Andrea (see yesterday's post for another sample of her creativity!) created THE cutest baby invitations for her daughter and daughter in law's baby shower. We had done a Christmas pop-up card using Loads of Love stamp set and she took that basic idea and ran with it. Isn't this card just too sweet?!
